Short answer

From 4 September 2026, Lazada Singapore's Marketplace rate for most categories rose from 10% to 12.5% for non-SPA sellers (6.5% to 10.5% for SPA sellers), before 9% GST. Groceries and books are unchanged. Re-price any product where the extra commission wipes out your margin.

LazMall rates rose as well. For LazMall 'Other Categories' the non-SPA rate went from 13% to 15.5% and the SPA rate from 9% to 13.5%, with the cap staying at S$150. LazMall electronics caps rose from S$75 to S$100.

How Lazada calculates commission and payment fees

Lazada's article gives the formula: commission = commission rate x (item price - seller promotions) + 9% GST. Seller promotions include your own vouchers, Flexi Combo and LazCoin discounts. Lazada-funded vouchers are not deducted, so you pay commission on the full price when Lazada funds the discount.

  • Payment fee: 3% before GST since 8 May 2025, per Lazada's payment fee article, charged on item price minus seller-funded vouchers plus the shipping fee the buyer paid.
  • Returns and failed deliveries: no commission on failed deliveries; commission is reversed on returns, and pro-rated on partial returns.
  • Caps: applied per unit, so a single expensive item will not be charged more than its category cap (plus GST).
  • New sellers: no commission for the first 90 days on the platform, from day 91 onwards.

Before any seller vouchers, ads or campaign fees, which reduce the margin further.

That one change takes about S$1.09 per unit, or about 8.5% of the remaining margin in this example. Products with thin margins, cheap items with fixed packaging costs, and anything you discount with seller vouchers are the first to check.

Where the fees show in your payout reports

Lazada says commission appears in Seller Center > Finance > My Income > Income Statement > View Statement Detail, and on each order's detail page. Payment fees, shipping fees and any programme fees appear as separate lines.

  1. Download one statement after 4 September 2026

Pick a statement period that falls entirely after the change, so all orders use the new rates.

  2. Check five orders by hand

Recalculate commission and payment fee with the formulas above. If they do not match, check the category Lazada assigned to the product.

  3. Note the GST on fees

Commission and payment fees carry 9% GST. If you are GST-registered, ask your accountant how to record and claim it.

  4. Update your price list and costing sheet

Put the new rate per product category next to cost and price, and flag anything below your minimum margin.

Recording Lazada payouts in your accounting software

A Lazada payout to your bank is net of commission, payment fees, shipping and refunds. If you record only the net amount as sales, your revenue and costs are both understated and the GST on fees goes missing.

Do it yourself or get help?

Updating a costing sheet for a few dozen products is an afternoon's work with the rate card and one statement. Getting payouts into Xero or QuickBooks correctly every month is where most sellers lose time.

Our Sales & Payout Sync (S$490) connects up to three sales channels, brings Shopee and Lazada payouts in from their settlement reports or a supported connector, posts each payout with sales, fees and refunds split out, and checks a month against your bank. If rising fees make your own store worth it, our Shopify Store (S$1,890) sets up a store with PayNow and cards. Frequently asked questions

Lazada's Seller Center rate card shows the new Marketplace and LazMall commission rates as effective from 4 September 2026. The help article was last updated on 26 August 2026. Rates differ by product category and by whether you are in Lazada's SPA programme.

For Marketplace sellers in 'Other Categories', the rate from 4 September 2026 is 12.5% for non-SPA sellers and 10.5% for SPA sellers, before 9% GST, with a cap of S$60 per unit. Grocery essentials, books and musical instruments stayed at 10% and 6.5% respectively.

No. Lazada's help article says commission is charged only on successfully delivered orders and is reversed for returned orders. For a partial return, the commission is reversed based on the actual refunded item amount. Failed deliveries are not charged commission.

Yes. Since 8 May 2025, Lazada Singapore charges a payment fee of 3% before GST on each successful transaction, calculated on item price minus seller-funded vouchers plus the shipping fee the buyer paid. It is charged on top of commission and appears as a separate line in your statements.

SPA sellers pay lower commission rates, but the programme has its own fees and terms that are shown in Seller Center rather than in the public rate card. Compare the SPA fee and obligations against the commission saving on your actual products and sales volume before joining.
