On top of commission, Shopee's seller fees article lists a 3.27% transaction fee on every successful order, and a PXP service fee if you join PXP. For electronics sellers, Shopee also says minimum affiliate (AMS) commissions were lowered to 2% to 4% for selected categories.
For the categories that got the 1% reduction, Shopee's own table shows the drop: non-Mall PXP sellers went from 7.63% to 6.54%, and non-Mall sellers not on PXP from 11.99% to 10.9%.
PXP service fee caps and new PXP benefits
PXP (Promo Xtra Programme) replaced the Coins Cashback Programme from 18 May 2026. You pay a service fee per completed order in return for platform vouchers and extra exposure. From 28 August the caps were standardised:
- Phones, tablets, cameras, computers, consoles, alcohol, pets, baby formula and diapers: 3.27% capped at S$60 on normal days, 4.36% capped at S$70 on campaign orders.
- All other categories: 5.45% capped at S$60 on normal days, 6.54% capped at S$70 on double-digit, 15MMS and 25SSS campaign orders.
- Campaign spike days: fees apply from D-1 8:00 PM to D+2 11:59 PM, unchanged.
- Ads credit: S$30 for sellers with active PXP on 1 September 2026, and another S$30 in December for those who stay subscribed through 31 December and meet the criteria.
- Trial: new-to-platform sellers get a 30-day PXP fee waiver; existing sellers new to PXP get a 30-day free trial if they sign up by 1 December 2026.
Do the sum before joining. On a S$50 order in a general category, PXP saves about S$1.64 in commission (14.17% down to 10.9%) but adds about S$2.73 in service fee on a normal day. PXP only pays if the vouchers and exposure bring extra orders.
Pre-order listing limit drops to 10% from 14 September
From 14 September 2026, pre-order listings may make up no more than 10% of a shop's active listings, down from 20%. Shopee says the penalty is unchanged: a shop over the limit is restricted to 100 active listings for 7 days, then restored once it is back under 10%.
Shopee Mall and Preferred Sellers face the same 10% figure in their eligibility criteria. The rule is that on zero days in the past 30 days may pre-order listings exceed 10% of active listings, so one bad day can cost the badge.
What small Shopee sellers should do now
Most of the work is checking prices and listings against the new numbers.
Look up your categories in the notice
Note your commission rate, any cap, and whether your category got the 1% reduction. Rates differ between Mall and non-Mall shops.
Recalculate margin on your top products
Subtract commission, the 3.27% transaction fee, PXP service fee if any, affiliate commission and your own shipping and packaging costs. Reprice anything that no longer covers its cost.
Decide on PXP with real figures
Compare total fees with and without PXP on your average order. If you have never joined, the 30-day free trial before 1 December 2026 is a low-risk test.
Count pre-order listings
In Seller Centre, filter active listings by pre-order and keep them below 10% of the total, with a margin of safety.
Check the AdXpress invitation
Sellers with paid ads below 4% of sales may be invited to AdXpress with a 0.5% commission rebate until 31 December 2026. Only accept if you would spend that ad budget anyway.
Diary the next review
Shopee changes fees several times a year. Put a quarterly reminder to re-read the Announcements section.
Shopee vs TikTok Shop vs your own store after the changes
TikTok Shop also changed its fees, from 1 September 2026, as covered in our TikTok Shop commission change guide. On a S$50 general-category order, a standard non-Mall Shopee seller now pays about S$8.73 (14.17% plus 3.27%), against about S$6.55 on TikTok Shop's standard rate and about S$2.10 in card fees on a Shopify Basic store.
Marketplaces bring buyers you would not otherwise reach. Your own store keeps more of each repeat sale. Our Shopee and Lazada fees vs your own store guide works through when each makes sense. If you sell on several channels, the e-commerce code of practice guide covers the rules that apply to all of them.
Do it yourself or get help?
Everything in this update can be handled in Seller Centre with a spreadsheet: check rates, reprice, decide on PXP, and fix pre-order counts. Give yourself an hour per 50 listings.
If the fee changes make you want a channel you control, our Shopify Store package (S$1,890, paid upfront) builds a ready-to-sell store with PayNow, cards, shipping rates and GST settings, so repeat buyers can order from you directly.
