Short answer
For a small Singapore store, the useful Spring '26 updates are Shop Campaigns (Singapore supported), multi-currency payouts (Advanced or Plus), B2B on Basic and up, Sidekick app links and AI channel controls. In-chat checkout in Copilot and Google AI Mode is US-only.
What the Spring '26 Edition is
Shopify publishes two Editions a year that bundle product updates. Its newsroom post, Selling everything, everywhere, all at once: The Spring '26 Edition, dated 17 June 2026, describes 150+ updates focused on getting products into AI shopping channels, a more capable Sidekick assistant, AI marketing and changes to checkout and point of sale. The full list is on the Spring '26 Editions page.
Edition pages describe what is possible, not what your store has today. Some features roll out over months, some are early access, and some are limited to certain countries or plans. Before planning around a feature, open its help centre page and check the requirements.
Spring '26 updates a Singapore store can use
These are the updates with the clearest value for a small to mid-sized Singapore store, with the limits Shopify's help pages list.
| Update | What it does | Plan or region notes (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Agentic storefronts | Lists eligible products in ChatGPT, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Meta and the Shop app through Shopify Catalog | On by default; Catalog needs Starter plan or higher and a store not in private mode |
| Shop Campaigns | Pay-per-conversion ads on Shop, other stores and partners, now adding ChatGPT, Pinterest and Microsoft Monetize | Singapore is a supported country; needs Shopify Payments |
| Campaign Autopilot | AI-run campaigns across Meta, Shop, email and Microsoft Advertising within guardrails you set | Early access; Autopilot itself is free, you pay for the ads and sends |
| Multi-currency payouts | Receive payouts in currencies such as USD, AUD or EUR | Advanced or Plus plan; Singapore bank account required |
| B2B on more plans | Company profiles, volume pricing, net terms and up to 3 B2B catalogs | Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus; not Starter or Retail |
| Sidekick with apps | Ask Sidekick about and act in apps such as Klaviyo, Loop, Smile and Judge.me | Depends on the app partner |
| Discounts by market and in-store only | Promotions for specific markets, locations or POS only | Check your discount settings |
| Order cancellation requests | Customers request cancellation before fulfilment from the order status page | Needs new customer accounts; you approve each request |
AI shopping channels: what works for Singapore buyers
Shopify's help page on agentic storefronts says the feature is active by default for eligible stores, lists your products in AI channels through Shopify Catalog, and shows orders with channel attribution in your admin. The catch for Singapore is where checkout happens.
- ChatGPT: works as a referrer. Per Shopify's ChatGPT page, buyers complete the purchase on your own online store checkout, so it works wherever you already sell.
- Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode / Gemini: direct checkout inside the chat is displayed only to customers in the United States. Others can still discover products but are sent to your store.
- Meta: direct checkout on Meta surfaces is displayed only to customers in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
So for a Singapore store selling to Singapore buyers, AI channels are a discovery source for now. The practical work is making product data clear: titles with the key specification, complete descriptions, correct variants and up-to-date stock. Our guide to selling through AI shopping agents on Shopify covers that, including how to opt products out.
Payments and marketing updates worth checking
Multi-currency payouts. Shopify's multi-currency payouts page lists Singapore among supported store locations, with additional payout currencies including AUD, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY and USD. It requires the Advanced or Shopify Plus plan, and all payouts must go to a Singapore-based bank account. Stores on Basic, Grow or Shopify plans still sell in multiple currencies but are paid in SGD, with a currency conversion fee.
Shop Campaigns. The Shop Campaigns requirements list Singapore as a supported business address, and require Shopify Payments, a supported store currency, direct checkout on Shop and Shopify Network Intelligence turned on. You pay when a customer converts rather than per click.
Campaign Autopilot. Shopify's Autopilot requirements page says Autopilot is free, but you pay for the activity it runs: Meta and Microsoft bill ad spend directly, and email sends follow your Shopify Messaging plan. Your monthly budget is a target that it can exceed because of delayed attribution, so set guardrails and approvals before turning it on.
Updates you can ignore for now
Several Spring '26 items are limited to the US or to larger merchants. Shopify's Editions page marks these explicitly:
- FedEx One Rate and UPS return labels bought in admin (US businesses).
- Cashback on ad spend from Shopify Balance (US only).
- In-chat direct checkout in Copilot, Google AI Mode and Gemini for non-US buyers.
- Shopify Collective in Australia, and POS features such as cash management that are exclusive to POS Pro.
Developer items such as Catalog API image search and new MCP tools matter only if you build custom apps. Our Sidekick and Shopify AI tools review covers the merchant-facing AI features in more depth.
What to do in your store this month
A short checklist turns the Edition into actions without paying for features you will not use.
Review Sales channels > Agentic
See which AI channels are active and decide which should have Catalog access. Turn off any you do not want.
Fix product titles and descriptions
Add the key specification to titles and fill missing fields. Sidekick can suggest changes when products surface in AI channels but do not convert.
Check Shop Campaigns eligibility
If you use Shopify Payments, test a small campaign with a capped budget and compare cost per order with your other channels.
Decide on multi-currency payouts
Only relevant on Advanced or Plus. Compare the payout fees with your bank's conversion rates before switching.
Audit your apps
New built-in features may replace a paid app. Our Shopify app costs audit shows how to review what you pay for.
Do it yourself or get help?
Most Spring '26 changes are switches and settings you can review yourself in an afternoon. Help is worth it when product data is messy, when you are moving to B2B or multiple currencies, or when the store needs restructuring to make use of the new channels.

Frequently asked questions
Shopify announced the Spring '26 Edition in its newsroom on 17 June 2026, describing more than 150 updates across AI channels, Sidekick, marketing, checkout, point of sale, payments and developer tools. Features roll out over time, so check each feature's help centre page for current availability in your store.
Not inside the chat for now. Shopify's help centre says Copilot and Google AI Mode direct checkout is displayed only to US customers, and Meta's only to US, Canadian and Mexican customers. ChatGPT works as a referrer, sending buyers to complete checkout on your own online store, which works for Singapore buyers.
Yes. Shopify's Shop Campaigns requirements page lists Singapore among supported countries for the business address. You also need Shopify Payments, a supported store and payout currency, direct checkout on the Shop channel and Shopify Network Intelligence turned on, and your store must comply with Shopify's policies.
The Advanced or Shopify Plus plan. Shopify's help centre says stores on Basic, Grow or Shopify plans can sell in multiple currencies but receive payouts only in their domestic currency. For Singapore stores, every payout currency must go to a Singapore-based bank account; foreign accounts are not supported.
Yes. Go to Sales channels, then Agentic, in your Shopify admin, turn off Allow Shopify to manage for me, then choose a channel and deactivate Shopify Catalog access. Shopify notes your products might still be found through web crawling, and has a separate process for hiding specific products from AI channels.
