Short answer
Chope still takes reservations, but deals moved to Grab Dine Out and Chope-Dollars stopped on 15 October 2026 (balances expire 30 November 2026). Check where your website and Google 'Reserve' buttons point, confirm your deposit and no-show settings with Grab, and keep a direct booking link of your own.
What changed between Chope and Grab Dine Out
Grab confirmed in July 2024 that it had acquired Chope's operations in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, as reported by TechCrunch. Since then, the two have been merging step by step. The official pages, as of October 2026, show four concrete changes.
| Change | Date | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Chope deals moved to Grab Dine Out | Already live | Grab's Chope deals page |
| No Chope-Dollars for bookings attended from this date | 15 October 2026 | Chope-Dollars page |
| Chope-Dollar balances expire | 23:59, 30 November 2026 | Chope-Dollars page and Chope diner FAQ |
| Diners earn GrabCoins only when booking in the Grab app | Already live | Chope-Dollars page |
| Old Chope for Restaurants site redirects to chope.co | As of October 2026 | Our check of restaurants.chope.co |
What has not changed, according to Chope's own FAQ: diners can still discover restaurants and make reservations on Chope. The announcement only changes how rewards are issued. If you take bookings through Chope's reservation system today, nothing switches off on a fixed date that Chope or Grab has published.
What it means for your restaurant
The practical effect is about where diners start. Chope's pages now tell diners that bookings made on Chope do not earn GrabCoins, and that to keep earning rewards they should book through Grab Dine Out. Regulars who cared about Chope-Dollars will start opening the Grab app instead.
On Grab's Dine Out merchant page, Grab describes three products for restaurants: Dine Out Deals (discounted vouchers shown in the app), Reservations Management (bookings from the Grab app, Chope and affiliates such as Google Maps and TripAdvisor, with confirmation prompts and upfront deposits) and Loyalty Solutions. It states that Dine Out Deals fees are not the same as food delivery fees but does not publish a rate, so ask your account manager for the current commission in writing.
Your guest data is the other question. Bookings made in the Grab app sit in Grab's systems under Grab's privacy notice. If you want to market to your regulars yourself, you need their consent and contact details collected through your own channels, not just a booking history inside a platform.
What to update online this month
Most restaurants have Chope links scattered across their website, Instagram bio and Google profile. Some still work, some point at deal pages that have moved. Go through them in one sitting.
Test every 'Book a table' button on your website
Click each one on desktop and phone. Confirm it opens your restaurant's booking page, not a generic Chope homepage or a moved deals page.
Check the Reserve button on your Google Business Profile
In Google Search or Maps, open your profile, then Edit profile and Bookings. See which providers are linked and remove any that no longer serve you.
Update Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp Business links
Bio links and auto-replies often still say 'Chope us'. Change them to the booking link you want people to use.
Review deposit and cancellation wording
If you take deposits through Grab's reservation tools, make sure the wording on your site matches the terms diners see in the app.
Remove old Chope deal mentions
Delete banners that promise Chope-Dollars or Chope deals. Diners can no longer earn Chope-Dollars from 15 October 2026.
Write down who owns each account
Record which email logs into Chope, Grab Merchant, Google Business Profile and your website, and make sure the business, not one staff member, owns them.
Google lets you remove third-party booking providers yourself. Its help page on local business links says providers must remove links within 5 days of a removal request. Our Google Business Profile set-up guide covers the rest of the profile.
Should you keep a direct booking channel?
Platforms are good for discovery: diners browsing the Grab app find restaurants they did not know. A booking system of your own is better for regulars, private events and set menus, where you want the guest's details and do not want to pay for a booking you would have had anyway.
Lean on Grab Dine Out if
- most new guests discover you while browsing apps
- you want deals to fill quiet weekday slots
- you already run GrabFood and want one merchant app
- you have no staff time to manage another system
Add your own booking page if
- most bookings come from regulars and word of mouth
- you take deposits for large groups or events
- you want to email or WhatsApp guests with consent
- you want the booking button on your site to stay yours
Many restaurants run both: the platform listing for discovery, and a direct link on their own website and Google profile. Our comparison of own online ordering versus GrabFood and foodpanda applies the same logic to delivery.
Checklist before 30 November 2026
Diner balances expire at 23:59 on 30 November 2026. Expect questions from regulars before then, and have answers ready for front-of-house staff.

Do it yourself or get help?
Checking links and updating your Google profile takes an hour if you know where your logins are. The bigger job is setting up direct bookings with deposits and reminders without breaking the platform listing.
Our Online Booking System (S$390) sets up a booking tool in your name with time slots, deposits, reminders and a widget for your website. If your site itself needs a refresh with a clear booking button, menu and map, the Business Website package (S$1,490) covers up to six pages. Our guide to online booking systems compares the main tools.
Frequently asked questions
Chope and Grab have not announced a shutdown date for Chope reservations. Chope's own FAQ says diners can continue to discover restaurants and make reservations on Chope. What changed is that Chope deals moved to Grab Dine Out and Chope-Dollars stopped being issued for bookings attended from 15 October 2026. Watch official Chope and Grab pages for any further notice.
All Chope-Dollars expire at 23:59 Singapore time on 30 November 2026. Before then, diners can link their Chope and Grab accounts to convert the balance into GrabCoins, or redeem rewards from the existing Chope catalogue. Vouchers redeemed before the deadline stay usable according to their own validity terms. This affects your diners, not your restaurant's account.
Grab's merchant page says both new and existing Grab merchant-partners with a physical dine-in store can apply for Dine Out Deals, reservations and loyalty tools, and existing merchants can set up deals in the GrabMerchant app. If you already use Chope's reservation system, ask Grab how your account is being handled before signing anything new.
Grab does not publish a rate on its Singapore Dine Out merchant page. It only states that Dine Out Deals fees differ from food delivery fees and that co-funding or trial commissions may be offered to new merchants. Ask your Grab account manager for the commission, payout cycle and refund rules in writing before running a deal.
Yes. Google lets you remove third-party booking providers from your Business Profile. In Google Search, open Bookings and choose to remove the provider; in Google Maps, use Edit profile, then Bookings. Google says providers must remove the link within five days. You can then add your own booking link instead.
