Short answer
For a Singapore merchant the useful Sessions 2026 items are Adaptive Pricing, Managed Payments for digital products, Radar's free trial abuse control and invoice payment plans (preview). Agentic Commerce Suite, Treasury transfers and Link's new payment methods are US or preview only for now.
What Stripe announced at Sessions 2026, in one paragraph
Stripe's Sessions 2026 press release (29 April 2026) frames the year around AI: selling inside AI apps through the Agentic Commerce Suite, a Link wallet that AI agents can pay with, streaming payments for token-based pricing, Radar protection against fake sign-ups, and a bigger Stripe Treasury. The full list is on Stripe's blog post Everything we announced at Sessions 2026.
The catch for a Singapore business is availability. Stripe is careful with wording: "you can now" usually means generally available, "we previewed" means invite or waitlist, and many items name a country. We read the linked documentation page for each item a typical Singapore SME might use and sorted them below.
Which Sessions 2026 launches a Singapore merchant can use
These items either apply worldwide or Stripe's documentation does not limit them to another country. Fees are from Stripe's Singapore pricing page, checked October 2026.
| Launch | What it does | Status for SG | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adaptive Pricing | Shows prices in the customer's local currency in 150+ countries | Available; always on for Payment Links, a setting for Checkout | Included; customer pays a conversion fee from 2% |
| Adaptive Pricing for subscriptions | Localises recurring prices | Available (cards, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay for cross-border) | Included |
| Managed Payments | Stripe acts as merchant of record for digital products: tax, disputes, fraud, support | Available after an eligibility review | 3.5% per transaction on top of payment fees |
| Radar free trial abuse | Blocks high-risk free-trial sign-ups | Available; switch on in Risk controls | See Radar pricing |
| Checkout studio | No-code editor, replay and A/B tests for Stripe Checkout | Preview | Not stated |
| Invoice payment plans | Split one invoice into a deposit and instalments | Preview | Invoicing fees apply |
Two items stand out. Adaptive Pricing is the easiest win if you sell to overseas customers through Payment Links or Checkout: Stripe says on its Adaptive Pricing docs that it is always enabled for Payment Links and is a Dashboard setting for Checkout. Payment plans suit service businesses that take a deposit, but the payment plans doc notes they do not auto-charge saved cards and cannot be used on subscription invoices.
What is US-only, regional or still a preview
Most of the headline launches are not available to a Singapore account today. That is not a reason to worry; it just means you can ignore them for now.
- Agentic Commerce Suite (sell inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Meta): Stripe's agentic commerce docs describe it as a private preview in the US, Canada and select European countries, for physical goods.
- Stripe Treasury (instant free transfers, Stripe card with 2% cashback, 15 currencies): announced for US and UK businesses, with Australia and Canada by the end of 2026.
- Link's new payment methods (Pix, stablecoins, UPI): announced for US businesses.
- US tax filing via TaxJar and the Stripe Tax expansion to Liechtenstein, Mexico and Malaysia: not relevant for a Singapore GST registrant.
- Streaming payments with Metronome and Tempo, and most stablecoin features: aimed at AI companies and fintechs, not typical SMEs.
If you sell physical products and want to appear in AI shopping assistants, our guide to selling through AI shopping agents on Shopify covers the routes that exist for Singapore stores today.
The Singapore-specific news from Stripe Tour (August 2026)
Stripe followed Sessions with a Singapore announcement on 25 August 2026, marking ten years in the country. It matters more to local merchants than most of the Sessions list.
- Stripe says more than 80,000 businesses and solopreneurs in Singapore use Stripe, and more than six in ten sell internationally.
- Managed Payments lets Singapore businesses selling digital products sell to customers in 195 countries while Stripe handles indirect tax, disputes, fraud and customer support.
- "Later this year" Singapore businesses will be able to accept cross-border payments with MoMo, GCash, Touch 'n Go, PromptPay and TrueMoney; ShopeePay and SPayLater across South-East Asia and Samsung Pay globally from Q4 2026.
- Singapore accounts can already hold balances in 10 currencies and convert instantly; the full Stripe Treasury (spend from balance, pay recipients in nearly 100 countries) comes to Singapore in early 2027.
Stripe also notes on its Singapore disclosures page that Stripe Payments Singapore Pte. Ltd. holds a Major Payment Institution licence from MAS with effect from 1 July 2026.
What to check in your Stripe Dashboard this month
You do not need to change anything because of Sessions. If you have half an hour, these steps pick up the useful bits.
Turn on Adaptive Pricing for Checkout if you sell abroad
Go to Settings, then Adaptive Pricing. It is already on for Payment Links. Remember the customer pays the conversion fee, so mention prices are shown in their currency.
Review payment methods for regional buyers
Open Settings, then Payment methods. When GCash, Touch 'n Go, PromptPay and the others appear for your account, enable the ones your overseas customers use.
Enable Radar's free trial abuse control if you offer trials
First switch on Radar for payment methods saved for future use, then enable Free trial abuse under Risk controls. Stripe shows backtesting data before you commit.
Check whether Managed Payments makes sense for digital products
Only relevant if you sell software, courses or downloads to many countries. Compare 3.5% extra against the cost of registering and filing overseas tax yourself.
Keep your card fee expectations current
Domestic cards are 3.4% + S$0.50, PayNow 1.3%, international cards +0.5% and currency conversion +2% (Stripe SG pricing, October 2026).
For a full fee breakdown with worked examples, see our Stripe fees in Singapore guide.
Subscriptions and billing: what changed for recurring revenue
Most Billing launches target AI companies with usage-based pricing (Metronome, credit balances, streaming payments). For a gym, tuition centre or SaaS with fixed monthly plans, the practical changes are smaller: Adaptive Pricing can now localise subscription prices, Radar can block trial abuse, and subscription invoice revisions (preview) will let you edit a finalised subscription invoice.
If you are setting up recurring billing from scratch, our step-by-step guide on setting up subscription billing in Stripe covers products, prices, the customer portal and failed-payment retries.
Do it yourself or get help?
Everything above is a Dashboard setting, so most owners can do it themselves in under an hour. Get help if your checkout is custom-built, you are unsure whether a new payment method affects your accounting sync, or you want subscriptions set up properly the first time.

Frequently asked questions
Stripe Sessions 2026 took place on 29 and 30 April 2026 in San Francisco. Stripe announced 288 products and features on 29 April. A separate Singapore announcement followed at Stripe Tour Singapore on 25 August 2026, covering Managed Payments, new regional payment methods and the plan to bring full Stripe Treasury to Singapore in early 2027.
Not through Stripe's Agentic Commerce Suite yet. Stripe's documentation lists it as a private preview for businesses in the US, Canada and select European countries, and for physical goods only. Singapore stores can still prepare by keeping clean product data and following the routes their store platform offers for AI shopping channels.
Not the full version. Stripe says Singapore accounts can already hold balances in 10 currencies and convert between them instantly. The full Treasury experience, including spending from balances and paying suppliers in nearly 100 countries from the Dashboard, is planned for Singapore in early 2027 according to Stripe's August 2026 announcement.
Stripe's Singapore pricing page says Adaptive Pricing is included at no additional charge for businesses on standard pricing. The customer sees a conversion fee starting at 2 percent built into the local-currency price. It is always enabled for Payment Links and can be switched on for Checkout in the Dashboard settings.
No. Nothing announced forces a change for Singapore merchants. It is worth reviewing Adaptive Pricing if you sell abroad, checking new regional payment methods as they appear, and enabling Radar's free trial abuse control if you offer free trials. Everything else can wait until it becomes available in Singapore.
