Google AI Mode Restaurant Booking in Singapore: Be Bookable

Since April 2026, diners in Singapore can ask Google's AI Mode for something like 'a table for four near Tanjong Pagar on Friday at 7pm, with vegetarian options' and get a shortlist of restaurants with open slots and a link to book. If your restaurant is not on a booking platform Google can read, or your Google Business Profile is out of date, you will not be on that list. This guide explains what Google has said about the feature, where the data comes from, and a practical checklist to make your restaurant show up and be bookable.

Short answer

To appear in AI Mode restaurant results with a bookable slot, keep your Google Business Profile accurate, take reservations through a booking provider connected to Google, and make sure your website states hours, cuisine, menu and booking details in plain text that Google can index.

What Google announced for AI Mode restaurant booking

Google first added restaurant reservations to AI Mode in the US in August 2025, describing it in its agentic AI Mode announcement. AI Mode searches across multiple reservation platforms and websites for real-time availability, shows a curated list, and links the diner to the booking page to finish.

On 10 April 2026 Google took the feature outside the US for the first time. 9to5Google reported Google's announcement naming eight new markets: Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK, with no Search Labs opt-in needed. Google's own country posts for the UK and South Africa describe the same flow and list local booking partners for those countries.

How AI Mode finds restaurants and open tables

Google's AI features guide for site owners says AI Mode uses a 'query fan-out': it runs several related searches across subtopics and data sources, then builds one answer with links. For restaurant booking, Google's August 2025 post adds that it combines live web browsing, direct partner integrations, the Knowledge Graph and Google Maps.

In practice, three sources decide whether you appear and whether a diner can book:

SourceWhat Google reads from itWhat you control
Google Business ProfileName, address, hours, category, photos, reviews, booking buttonAccuracy, categories, booking link or provider
Booking providerReal-time table availability and the booking pageWhich provider you use and whether it connects to Google
Your websiteMenu, cuisine, dietary options, policies, eventsPlain-text content, structured data, indexing

Google says there are no extra technical requirements for AI features: a page only needs to be indexed and eligible to appear in Search with a snippet. The same fundamentals apply, and Google specifically lists keeping Business Profile information up to date.

Step 1: get your Google Business Profile right

AI Mode answers questions like 'open late', 'near Raffles Place' or 'good for groups'. Most of those facts come from your profile. Google's Business Profile guidelines ask you to represent the business as it is known in the real world, keep the address precise, use the fewest categories that describe the core business and keep one profile per location.

Step 2: use a booking system Google can read

A shortlist is only useful if the diner can book. Google's Business Profile help page on bookings says that if you do not already work with a provider, you can find one available in your country through Reserve with Google, sign it up under Bookings in your profile, and it shows within a week. You can also add your own booking link, but Google notes that performance data is not available for custom links.

Google's local business structured data documentation makes the same point from the developer side: to let users book directly in Search results, you use the Maps Booking API, which is what Reserve with Google providers integrate with.

  • Already on a reservation platform? Ask the provider in writing whether it sends live availability to Google Reserve and whether it is a partner for AI Mode in Singapore.
  • On Chope? Booking through Chope still works, but deals moved to Grab Dine Out in 2026. Our guide to Chope moving to Grab Dine Out lists what to check.
  • Taking bookings by WhatsApp or phone only? AI Mode may still mention you, but it cannot show a slot. A simple online booking page is the minimum.

Watch the fees too. Google's help page warns that a provider may charge you for bookings made through Google, so check the commercial terms.

Step 3: make your website easy for AI Mode to read

When a diner asks for 'halal-certified', 'dog-friendly' or 'private room for 12', AI Mode looks for pages that state it clearly. Keep these facts as text on your site, not only inside images or PDF menus.

  • A menu page in HTML with dish names, prices and dietary labels
  • Opening hours, address and nearest MRT on every location page
  • Clear policies: deposits, cancellation, corkage, children, dress code
  • Restaurant structured data (Google's example uses servesCuisine, menu, opening hours and address) that matches what is visible on the page
  • One booking button that goes to the same system as your Google profile

Check that the site is indexed in Google Search Console and loads quickly on phones. Our guide to visibility in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews goes deeper on how AI answers pick sources.

What this means for your direct bookings

AI Mode hands the diner to a booking partner to finish. That is convenient, but it can also mean more bookings arrive through a platform rather than your own page, with that platform's fees and customer data rules. Keep a direct booking option you control, and make sure deposits and no-show rules are the same everywhere so diners are not confused.

If you are weighing platform fees against your own channels for orders as well as tables, our guide to online ordering vs delivery apps for Singapore restaurants sets out the trade-offs.

Do it yourself or get help?

Updating your Business Profile and asking your booking provider about Google is a job for an afternoon. The website side, a proper menu page, structured data and a fast mobile site, is where restaurants usually need a hand.

Our Online Booking System package (S$390) sets up a booking tool in your name with deposits, reminders, calendar sync and a booking widget on your website. If the site itself is slow or not indexed, the Speed & SEO Fix (S$390) covers page speed, titles and headings, the sitemap and Google Search Console.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Google expanded agentic restaurant booking in AI Mode beyond the US on 10 April 2026, and Singapore was one of eight new markets named in the announcement. Diners describe what they want and AI Mode lists restaurants with available slots, then links to a booking partner to complete the reservation.

No. Google says there are no extra technical requirements or payments for AI features; a page needs to be indexed and eligible for Search. Your booking provider may charge fees for reservations that come through Google, so check its terms. Google's help page specifically warns about provider charges.

It can mention your restaurant if your profile and website match the diner's request, but it cannot show a real-time slot or complete a booking without a connected booking system. Adding an online booking page linked to your Google Business Profile is the minimum step to become bookable.

Google has not published a Singapore partner list that we could find as of October 2026. In other countries the partners differ, for example TheFork, SevenRooms and OpenTable in the UK. Ask your provider whether it supplies live availability to Google Reserve and AI Mode in Singapore, and get the answer in writing.

No. Google says structured data should match what is visible on the page and that normal SEO fundamentals apply, but nothing guarantees inclusion. Treat restaurant markup as one part of a clean setup together with an accurate Business Profile, a crawlable menu page and a connected booking system.
