Short answer
Shopify Plus is worth it when you need something Advanced cannot do: customising the information, shipping and payment steps of checkout, unlimited B2B catalogues, more than 15 staff accounts or several expansion stores. Lower card rates alone rarely cover the US$2,300 a month fee.
What Shopify Plus costs in Singapore
Shopify shows Singapore prices for its standard plans in Singapore dollars and Plus in US dollars. The Shopify Plus pricing page says Plus starts at US$2,300 a month for standard set-ups on a three-year term, or US$2,500 a month on a one-year term. More complex, higher-volume businesses move to a variable platform fee based on revenue and business model.
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Online card rate from | Third-party gateway fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grow | S$99/mo | S$132/mo | 3.1% + S$0.50 | 1% |
| Advanced | S$399/mo | S$531/mo | 3% + S$0.50 | 0.6% |
| Plus | From US$2,300/mo (3-year term) | US$2,500/mo (1-year term) | 2.9% + S$0.50 | 0.2% |
Shopify says it does not charge to migrate to Plus, but the migration itself is your responsibility, and custom work is usually done by a Shopify Plus partner. For the full picture of store running costs, see our Shopify store cost guide.
Shopify Advanced vs Plus: the features that differ
Most of what a Singapore store needs, including Shopify Payments, selling to other countries with Shopify Markets, discounts and reports, is available below Plus. These are the differences that usually drive the decision, from Shopify's Singapore pricing comparison and checkout help.
| Feature | Advanced | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Staff accounts | Up to 15 | Unlimited |
| Checkout customisation | Branding, plus apps on thank-you and order status pages | Also apps on information, shipping and payment pages; Checkout Branding API |
| B2B catalogues | Up to 3 | Unlimited |
| Inventory locations | 10 | 200 |
| Extra stores | Separate subscription each | Main store plus 9 expansion stores included |
| Support | Enhanced live chat | Priority 24/7 support, including phone |
If none of these rows describes a problem you have today, Advanced or even Grow is the better plan.
Checkout customisation: the most common reason to upgrade
Shopify's help centre says standard checkout customisation is available from the Basic plan: logo, colours, fonts and apps on the thank-you and order status pages. Only Plus allows eligible apps to change the information, shipping and payment pages, and only Plus gets the Checkout Branding API.
In practice, that matters if you need things like custom fields at checkout (a delivery time slot, a company UEN for B2B orders, a gift message with rules), payment or shipping options that change based on cart contents, or upsells inside checkout. Many delivery-date and gift-message needs can be met on the cart page instead, before checkout, on any plan.
B2B and wholesale on Shopify Plus
B2B used to be a Plus-only feature. Shopify's current pricing table shows B2B on every plan with up to 3 catalogues, and unlimited catalogues on Plus. A catalogue is a set of products and prices for a group of business customers, such as a retail price list, a distributor price list and an F&B trade list.
If you have three or fewer price lists, you can run wholesale on Advanced. If you have tiered pricing for many customer groups, regional distributors or customer-specific contracts, Plus starts to make sense. Our guide to wholesale B2B ordering portals compares Shopify B2B with other options.
When does Shopify Plus pay for itself?
Lower card rates are the first thing people calculate, and they are rarely enough on their own. Plus's online rate is 0.1 percentage points lower than Advanced. On S$500,000 of card sales a month, that saves about S$500, far short of the US$2,300 platform fee.
Plus is worth costing out if you tick two or more
Alternatives to try before Shopify Plus
Stay on Advanced if
- Checkout branding and cart-page fields are enough
- Three or fewer wholesale price lists
- 15 or fewer people need admin access
- One store with Shopify Markets covers your regions
Move to Plus if
- Checkout logic must change by customer or cart
- Many B2B customer groups or contract prices
- Large team or many retail outlets
- Several regional stores for one brand
Shopify Markets lets one store sell to several countries with local currency and language on lower plans, which covers many brands that think they need expansion stores. If your developer suggests Plus, ask which specific feature requires it. Our guide to choosing a Shopify developer lists the questions to ask.
Do it yourself or get help?
Upgrading is done with Shopify's sales team, and most Plus projects then involve a Shopify Plus partner for checkout and integration work. Before that step, it is worth checking whether your current plan is set up to its full potential.
Our Online Store Pro (S$3,490) builds or rebuilds a Shopify store on Grow or Advanced with up to 150 products, tuned collections and search, discounts and bundles, reviews, abandoned cart emails and one marketplace connector. It suits brands that want to get the most from a standard plan before committing to Plus.
Frequently asked questions
As of October 2026, Shopify Plus starts at US$2,300 a month on a three-year term or US$2,500 a month on a one-year term, for standard set-ups. Higher-volume or more complex businesses pay a variable platform fee based on revenue. Card processing fees through Shopify Payments are charged on top.
Plus adds unlimited staff accounts instead of 15, apps on checkout's information, shipping and payment pages, unlimited B2B catalogues instead of 3, up to 200 inventory locations, nine expansion stores and priority support. It also has slightly lower card rates and third-party gateway fees. Most other features are the same.
Not necessarily. Shopify's pricing shows B2B available on all plans with up to three catalogues, which covers many small wholesalers with a few price lists. Plus removes the catalogue limit, which matters if you have many customer groups, regional distributors or contract pricing for individual buyers.
Partly. From the Basic plan you can brand checkout with your logo, colours and fonts and add eligible apps to the thank-you and order status pages. Only Plus allows apps on the information, shipping and payment pages. Many custom fields can go on the cart page instead, before checkout.
Shopify says it does not charge to migrate to Plus, but migration is your responsibility. If you are already on Shopify, upgrading is largely a plan change plus any new checkout or B2B set-up. Moving from another platform involves data migration and rebuilding, usually with a partner, which is a separate cost.
