Shopify plan prices in Singapore (October 2026)
From Shopify's Singapore pricing page. Prices are in SGD and approximate; Shopify changes plans and promotions from time to time.
| Plan | Paid monthly | Paid yearly (per month) | Online card rate (Shopify Payments) | Fee if you use another payment provider |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | S$39 | S$29 | 3.2% + S$0.50 | 2% |
| Grow | S$132 | S$99 | 3.1% + S$0.50 | 1% |
| Advanced | S$531 | S$399 | 3% + S$0.50 | 0.6% |
| Plus | From US$2,300 | - | 2.9% + S$0.50 | 0.2% |
Shopify says there are no set-up fees on any plan. When we checked, new stores were offered a 3-day free trial followed by $1 a month for the first 3 months. For Basic, Amex and international cards are 3.6% + S$0.50 online.
Most small Singapore stores start on Basic paid yearly: S$29 × 12 = S$348 a year in plan fees. Move up to Grow when you need more staff accounts or lower card rates on higher sales.
Payment fees, and how PayNow changes them
Payment fees usually cost more than the plan itself once you have regular sales. On Basic, a S$60 card order through Shopify Payments costs about S$1.92 + S$0.50 = S$2.42 in fees.
PayNow is the twist. Shopify's Singapore payment methods page does not list PayNow under Shopify Payments, so stores that want PayNow add a third-party provider such as HitPay. That means three layers of cost on a PayNow order:
- the provider's PayNow fee (HitPay lists 0.65% + S$0.30 from S$100, or 0.9% under S$100, as of October 2026);
- the provider's Shopify app fee (HitPay lists 0.5%);
- Shopify's third-party transaction fee for using another provider (2% on Basic, 1% on Grow).
Even so, many Singapore shoppers prefer PayNow, and offering it can lift conversion. Our guide to accepting PayNow on your website works through the total cost per order.
Keep Shopify Payments switched on for cards even if you add HitPay for PayNow. Shopify's third-party fee only applies to orders paid through the other provider.
Themes, apps and other extras
Themes
Shopify offers free themes that are good enough for most small stores. Paid themes in the Shopify Theme Store are a one-off purchase, mostly between about US$100 and US$450 when we checked. A paid theme is worth it only if it has a specific feature you need.
Apps
Apps are where costs creep up. Reviews, subscriptions, bundles, wishlists and pop-ups each tend to be a monthly subscription, and each one can slow the store. Start with what Shopify includes and add apps only when a real need appears.
Domain and email
Use your own domain (a .com, .sg or .com.sg) registered in your name. Shopify does not host business email, so you need Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for info@ and staff mailboxes. Google Workspace Business Starter was listed at S$9.40 per user a month on the flexible plan in October 2026, per its pricing page.
Shipping and stock
Local delivery and self-collection are free to set up. Courier labels, packaging and any marketplace connectors (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop) add their own fees.
A first-year budget, worked through
Here is the structure of a simple first-year budget for a small store on Basic, paid yearly. Plug in your own sales and the quotes you receive:
| Item | One-off or recurring | Typical figure or how to estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify Basic (yearly) | Recurring | S$348 a year |
| Card fees | Per order | 3.2% + S$0.50 of each card order |
| PayNow via HitPay | Per order | HitPay fee + 0.5% app fee + Shopify's 2% third-party fee |
| Theme | One-off | Free, or roughly US$100 to US$450 for a paid theme |
| Apps | Recurring | Add up the monthly price of each app you install |
| Domain | Recurring | Your registrar's yearly price |
| Business email | Recurring | Per user per month, from Microsoft or Google |
| Build and set-up | One-off | Your own time, or a designer's fixed fee |
The real risk in the first year is not the plan price, it is paying for apps and features before you have customers. A clean store on a free theme with a few products, clear photos, honest shipping rates and PayNow plus cards is enough to start.
Building it yourself vs paying for set-up
Shopify is designed so owners can build their own store. Doing it yourself makes sense if you have time, good product photos and a small catalogue. Expect to spend most of your time on product descriptions, shipping rules and policies, not on design.
Paying for set-up makes sense when you want to launch on a date, have many products or variants, need PayNow and cards working first time, or want the store's policies, emails and tax settings done properly. Whoever builds it, make sure:
- the Shopify account is in your name, with the designer added as staff or a collaborator;
- the domain is registered to you, not the designer;
- you get a short handover covering orders, refunds and adding products;
- the quote lists the number of products uploaded, the apps installed and their monthly costs.
