POS Systems in Singapore Compared: Qashier, StoreHub, Shopify POS

A POS system in Singapore is three costs in one: the software subscription, the hardware (terminal, printer, cash drawer) and the payment processing fees on every card or PayNow sale. Qashier, StoreHub and Shopify POS are three common choices, and they suit different businesses: Qashier and StoreHub lean towards F&B and local retail, while Shopify POS is strongest when you also sell online. This guide compares published pricing from each vendor as of October 2026, explains what to check on payments, delivery apps and stock sync, and how grants fit.

Short answer

For F&B with table ordering and GrabFood or foodpanda, Qashier and StoreHub are built for it. For retail that also sells online, Shopify POS keeps one product catalogue and stock count across the shop and website. Compare total monthly cost: software, hardware and payment fees together.

From vendor pricing pages, October 2026. Qashier prices exclude GST. StoreHub shows USD on its main pricing page.

Qashier's FAQ says that on a day with no sales, the daily fee is carried over to your next settlement rather than charged to a card. Shopify's figures are monthly-billing prices; yearly billing is cheaper.

Payments: card fees, PayNow and settlement

On a busy outlet, payment fees can cost more each month than the software. Ask every vendor for these numbers in writing:

  • Card rate per in-person transaction, for local and foreign cards.
  • Whether PayNow is accepted at the counter, and at what fee.
  • E-wallets you need (GrabPay, ShopeePay, Alipay) and their rates.
  • Settlement timing: Qashier says its integrated payments are settled daily.
  • Whether you must use their payment processor, or can bring your own terminal.

Shopify's Singapore page lists in-person card rates from 3% + S$0.50 on Basic, and an extra fee of 2% (Basic) down to 0.6% (Advanced) when you use a third-party payment provider instead of Shopify Payments. If PayNow matters for your customers, check how each POS handles it. Our HitPay vs Stripe comparison and PayNow on your website guide cover online payments.

Delivery apps, online store and stock sync

If you sell through GrabFood or foodpanda, a POS that pulls those orders in saves re-typing orders and keeps menus in sync. Qashier lists GrabFood, foodpanda, Shopify and WooCommerce integrations in its single plan, plus 0% commission online and QR ordering. StoreHub lists delivery, QR ordering and loyalty among its features.

If you sell products online as well as in a shop, stock sync is the bigger issue. Shopify POS shares one catalogue and inventory with your Shopify store, so a sale in either place updates the same stock count. Other POS systems connect to Shopify or WooCommerce through integrations; ask how often stock syncs and what happens when the link fails.

How to choose and switch POS systems

  1. Write down your must-haves

Tables and kitchen display, appointments, variants and stock, multiple outlets, mall GTO reporting, delivery apps, online store. Rule out systems that miss one.

  2. Compare 12-month total cost

Add software, hardware, payment fees at your typical monthly takings and any add-ons. Include GST if you are not GST-registered.

  3. Check the contract and exit

Length, notice period, who owns leased hardware, and how you export your product list, customers and sales history if you leave.

  4. Check accounting and e-invoicing

Confirm the POS can send daily sales to Xero or your accounting software. Our Xero integration guide shows what clean reconciliation looks like.

  5. Check grants before paying anything

If the solution is pre-approved for grant support, apply first. Our EDGE Grant guide explains how support works since PSG ended in September 2026.

Do it yourself or get help?

Ask your POS vendor what hardware delivery and onboarding they include. The part that often needs extra work is the link between the POS, the online store, payments and accounting.

POS go-live checklist

If you sell online too, our Shopify Store package (S$1,890) builds the online side on your own account, ready to connect to Shopify POS. Online Payment Setup (S$290) adds Stripe or HitPay with PayNow to an existing website. See Shopify store costs in Singapore for plan and app fees.

Frequently asked questions

As of October 2026, Qashier lists S$5 a day before GST for its full platform, StoreHub's pricing page shows plans from US$39 a month, and Shopify plans with POS start at S$39 a month. Add hardware and payment fees per transaction to compare the true monthly cost, and get written quotes.

Look for table and QR ordering, a kitchen display, GrabFood and foodpanda integration, PayNow at the counter and mall GTO reporting if you are in a mall. Qashier and StoreHub both target F&B with these features. Trial with a real day's orders before committing to a long contract.

It suits retailers who also sell online, because the shop and website share one product catalogue and stock count. Shopify's Singapore pricing lists in-person card rates from 3% plus S$0.50 on the Basic plan, and POS Pro at S$129 per location per month for advanced in-store features such as staff roles.

Possibly, if the specific POS package is a pre-approved solution. Since 30 September 2026, business grant support runs through Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant, which reimburses part of the cost after the project. Check the solution listing, and apply before paying any deposit or signing.

Often yes. Qashier says you can run it on hardware you already own for S$5 a day, and Shopify POS runs on compatible phones and tablets. You may still need a card terminal, receipt printer and cash drawer, so check which devices the vendor supports.
