Short answer
In Xero, add the bank account, then connect: DBS through IDEAL (feed starts within 24 hours), OCBC through Velocity@OCBC (daily at 9am), or UOB with a BizSmart application form (starts within 10 working days). Foreign currency accounts need Xero Premium.

Xero's Singapore plans are Starter, Standard and Premium. Only Premium lists multiple currencies, and Xero's DBS article says you need Premium for foreign currency feeds. Xero has announced a price increase from 1 November 2026: Starter to S$42, Standard to S$77 and Premium to S$99 a month, including GST.
How to connect a DBS account to Xero
DBS uses a login-and-authorise flow through IDEAL, its business banking platform. Have your IDEAL Organisation ID, User ID, PIN and security code ready.
Add the bank account in Xero
In Xero, add a bank account and choose DBS (SG). If it already exists, click Connect available bank feed on the homepage.
Log in to DBS IDEAL
Click Continue, then enter your Organisation ID, User ID, PIN and Security Access Code and choose to authorise the third party.
Accept the terms and authorise Xero
Tick the terms and conditions box, then authorise Xero.
Match each DBS account
Next to each DBS account, choose the matching Xero bank account or create a new one. Every account needs a green tick.
Finish and wait 24 hours
Click Finish. Transactions take about 24 hours to start importing.
The DBS direct feed article also notes that only parent company accounts in IDEAL can be set up.
How to connect OCBC and UOB accounts
OCBC (Velocity@OCBC)
According to the OCBC direct feed article, the feed is for Velocity@OCBC authorisers on the Standard and Classic packages. Premium package users need to contact OCBC first to enable their account. In Xero, go to Accounting, Bank accounts, Add bank account, choose OCBC Bank (Singapore), log in at OCBC with multi-factor authentication, select the accounts to share, then match them in Xero and click Finish.
UOB (BizSmart form)
UOB works differently. Per the UOB direct feed article, you add the account in Xero as UOB (SG), then submit a UOB bank feed application form for each Xero organisation. The form asks for the company name and registration number, the company name as registered in Xero, the Xero login email of the subscription buyer, and an authorised person's name, mobile and email. The UOB BizSmart team then contacts you to verify identity, and the feed starts within 10 working days.
The account number you type in Xero must match the one on the UOB form exactly. Check this before you submit, because Xero's article lists it as a requirement.
Bank feed not updating or missing transactions? How to fix it
Xero's articles for all three banks give the same first step: when a feed starts, check for missing or duplicate transactions, import the missing ones manually and delete duplicates. Then work through the usual causes.
- Check the timing first. DBS and UOB feeds do not arrive on Mondays, so Monday's view shows nothing new for those banks. OCBC arrives daily at 9am.
- Look for a known disruption. Each Xero article links to a bank feed disruptions page. If your bank is listed, wait rather than reconnecting.
- Refresh the OCBC feed. For OCBC, use Refresh bank feed from the bank account menu. Xero notes it relies on the bank making transactions available and cannot guarantee they appear as soon as they show in online banking.
- Reconnect a broken OCBC feed. If you see a red Details button, deactivate all OCBC accounts on the feed, then use Get bank feeds to reconnect. If that fails, de-link the accounts inside OCBC and start again.
- Fill gaps with a statement import. For days the feed missed, download a statement from your bank and import it manually into the same Xero bank account.
- Remove duplicates carefully. If you imported a statement and the feed later delivered the same lines, delete the duplicates before reconciling, or your balance will be wrong.
If the closing balance in Xero does not match your bank statement, find the first date where they diverge. The gap is usually a missing day, a duplicate import or a transaction reconciled to the wrong account.
Reconciling faster: bank rules and payment apps
A bank feed only brings transactions in. Reconciling them still takes time unless you set up a few rules.
Reconciliation set-up checklist
If you take card or PayNow payments online, payouts are the hardest part to reconcile. Our guide to connecting Shopify, Stripe or HitPay to Xero explains the clearing account method. If you are still choosing software, see Xero vs QuickBooks in Singapore.
When a direct feed is not available
Some account types are not on the eligible lists above. Xero's UOB article suggests checking whether a Yodlee feed is available, which is a third-party connection, or importing bank statements manually.
For a small business, a monthly statement import is workable for an account with few transactions. For your main operating account, it is worth moving to an eligible business account so the feed works every day. If you are also getting ready for e-invoicing, our InvoiceNow guide covers how Xero handles Peppol invoices.
Do it yourself or get help?
Connecting a DBS or OCBC feed is a 15-minute job for whoever holds the bank login. UOB just needs the form filled in carefully. The work that takes longer is cleaning up months of unreconciled transactions and setting up rules and payment app connections.
Xero / QuickBooks Integration (S$390) connects your bank feeds, sets up bank rules, links Stripe, HitPay or Shopify with a clearing account and gives your bookkeeper a short guide. You log in to your bank yourself to authorise the feed, so your banking credentials are never shared.
Frequently asked questions
Xero's DBS article says the feed starts within 24 hours of connecting through DBS IDEAL. After that, transactions arrive in Xero every Tuesday to Sunday by 9am Singapore time. Only parent company accounts in IDEAL can be connected, and DBS does not allow the same feed to connect to two accounting packages.
UOB feeds start within 10 working days of submitting the UOB bank feed application form, after the BizSmart team verifies your identity. Check that the account number in Xero exactly matches the form, and that you submitted one form for each Xero organisation. Feeds then arrive Tuesday to Sunday by 6am.
Yes. Xero lists OCBC business foreign currency accounts as eligible for direct feeds, along with checking and savings accounts. You need a Xero plan that supports multiple currencies, which is Premium in Singapore. Velocity@OCBC Premium package users must ask OCBC to enable access before connecting.
First check the bank's normal timing and Xero's bank feed disruptions page. If transactions are still missing, download a statement for those dates from your bank and import it manually into the same Xero bank account, then delete any duplicates before you reconcile.
Yes. Xero says Singapore prices change from 1 November 2026: Starter from S$39 to S$42, Standard from S$70 to S$77 and Premium from S$95 to S$99 a month, including GST. Existing promo codes still apply, but the multi-organisation discount is being removed.
