Short answer
For most small teams, Canva Business is the easier choice: shared templates, brand kits and a huge template library. Adobe Express suits teams already paying for Adobe or Acrobat plans. Whichever you pick, set it up under a company-owned account so designs stay with the business, not a staff member or agency.

Team plans: Canva Pro vs Canva Business vs Adobe Express for teams
Read this before buying. Canva's own FAQ says only one person can use a Canva Pro account. Sharing one Pro login among staff breaks the terms and leaves every design tied to whoever set it up.
| Canva Pro | Canva Business | Adobe Express for teams | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | One person | Individuals and small teams | Small and midsize organisations |
| Brand kits | 5 | 100, with approvals | Shared templates across teams |

Adobe says its business plans give the company control of Adobe Express projects and assets, which is exactly the point of a team plan.
Who owns your designs? The account ownership lesson
With design tools, access often matters more than features. A freelancer or agency sets up the account in their name, a staff member uses a personal email, and when they leave the brand templates go with them.
Sign up with a company email
Use an address on your own domain, such as design@ or marketing@, not a personal Gmail. Store the login in a company password manager.
Make the business the owner
On Canva Business or Adobe Express for teams, the company account should be the owner or admin. Add staff and freelancers as members, not owners.
Keep two admins
Add a second admin, usually the director, so you are never locked out if one person leaves or loses their phone.
Invite agencies into your team
Ask designers to work inside your team rather than sending you share links from their account. When the project ends, remove their access.
Export master files regularly
Download your logo files, brand colours and key templates and keep them in your company drive, outside the design tool.
The same principle applies to your website, domain and social accounts. Our password manager guide covers sharing logins safely.
AI features and commercial use of content
Both tools now include generative AI for images, background removal, resizing and text. Canva gives each plan an AI allowance (Business gets 20 times the free plan), with paid top-ups. Adobe's AI features use its Firefly models and generative credits, and Adobe's comparison lists IP indemnification for Firefly-generated content; check which plan includes it if this matters to you.
For stock content, Canva's Content License Agreement allows commercial uses such as advertising, packaging and promotional materials within a Canva design. It also sets clear limits:
- You cannot use Canva's free or Pro content as part of a trade mark, business name or logo (fonts are excepted).
- You cannot download or distribute Pro content as a standalone item, outside a design.
- Content labelled 'Editorial Use Only' cannot be used commercially.
- Branded and Disney content has its own, narrower rules, mostly no commercial use.
Which should your business choose?
Choose Canva if
- Several staff make social posts, flyers or menus
- You want the widest choice of ready-made templates
- You need brand kits with approvals before posting
- Nobody on the team uses Adobe tools today
Choose Adobe Express if
- You already pay for Acrobat or Creative Cloud
- Your designer works in Photoshop or Illustrator
- You want Adobe Stock and Adobe Fonts in one place
- Commercial-safety terms for AI content are a priority
A one-person business can usually start on a free plan and upgrade when templates or brand kits become a bottleneck.
Do it yourself or get help?
Setting up a design tool properly takes an hour: company account, brand kit with your logo, colours and fonts, a few core templates and the right people invited. The work that pays off is having a clear brand to put into it.
Design tools make posts; your website is where customers check you are real. Our guide to website costs in Singapore explains the options. If you want one built, our Business Website (S$1,490) sets up up to 6 pages on accounts you own, and a Landing Page (S$690) suits a single campaign. Frequently asked questions
No. Canva's pricing FAQ says only one person can use a Canva Pro account. For a team, use Canva Business, which is priced per person and adds team admin tools, shared brand kits and approvals. Sharing a single Pro login also ties every design to one person's account.
As of October 2026, Canva's pricing page lists Canva Business at S$250 per year per person on yearly billing, and Canva Pro at S$165 per year for one person. Canva says yearly billing saves from 16% compared with monthly. Check the page before buying, as prices and offers change.
You can design it in Canva, but Canva's content licence does not allow its stock content, such as icons and illustrations, to be used as part of a trade mark, business name or logo. Fonts are an exception. For a logo you can protect, create it from original elements or hire a designer.
Some Acrobat plans include it. Adobe's Singapore plans page lists Acrobat Studio as including Adobe Express Premium. Check what you already pay for before buying a separate Express subscription, and confirm the plan details on Adobe's site, as bundles change.
Rights in the content depend on each tool's terms, but in practice access depends on whose account holds the designs. If a freelancer or staff member creates designs in their personal account, you may lose them when they leave. Set up a team plan under a company email, keep two admins and export master files regularly.
